BiographIE
François Bon, born in 1953 in the Vendée. Father a garage mechanic, mother a schoolteacher. After studying mechanical engineering (Arts et Métiers), worked in electron-beam welding for the aerospace and nuclear industries, in France and abroad (notably India and the USSR). Published his first book, "Sortie d'usine", in 1982 with Editions de Minuit. 1984-1985 laureate of the Académie de France in Rome (Villa Médicis). Began ongoing research into writing workshops in 1991 ("Tous les mots sont adultes", Fayard, 2002, re-edited 2005). Published for several years with Minuit and then Verdier. Dedicated several years to a trilogy on rock'n roll and the history of the 60s and 70s (Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin). Theater credits include "Quatre avec le mort" at the Comédie Française in October 2002 and "Daewoo" at the Avignon Festival in 2004 (Molière). Translations available in German, Danish, Swedish, Chinese, Dutch, English, Korean and Japanese. In 2009-2010, visiting professor (creative writing) at Université Laval/Québec) and Université de Montréal (UdeM/Montréal). His most recently published books include: "Après le livre", Seuil, 2011; "Autobiographie des objets", 2012, "Proust est une fiction", 2013, and a primer published by Grasset: "Fragments du dedans". Since 1997, he has been active on the Internet via the Tiers Livre website (http://tierslivre.net), which has become his main place of experimentation and creation. He teaches creative writing at the École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy.
